On 30th of March 2023, the stakeholder meeting was held in the frame of REGIONal Strategies 4 FOOD 4.0 Revolution (R4F) project.

The primary goal of the event is to strengthen the cooperation between agri-food stakeholders and to support the diffusion of digital technologies in the agri-food industry by creating new collaborations and projects.

At the event, Zsolt Pálmai, STRIA, briefly presented the project and summarized the main results.

As a result of Action 1: Encouraging cooperation between agri-food operators, the final version of the GINOP PLUSZ-1.2.1-21 call for proposals awarded the cluster membership with an extra 5 points, which resulted in the technological development of AgResearch Crop Service Research and Service Ltd. or the purchase of earthmoving machinery at SB Solution Hungary Kft.

The implemented Action 2: Supporting the agri-food sector by promoting digital technologies has achieved the GINOP-1.2.9-20 call to extend the range of IT tools that can be purchased by agri-food businesses, especially in rural areas. This is the result of the support for the development of AGRO-PROTECT Ltd. in Himesháza or the technological development of Aro-Peritum Ltd.

Bernadett Horváthné dr. Kovács emphasized the role and importance of the pilot action (3rd Action) of the R4F project for the MATE Kaposvár Campus. As a result of the action, the Master’s degree in Digital Agriculture and Agri-Food Innovation will be integrated (partially or entirely) into the offer of Hungarian higher education in the future.

The Regions 4Food project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Hungary.
